There are 2 bedrooms in the cottage, both with full-size beds. There is a sofa with a pull-out full-size bed in the living room.
In the kitchen you’ll find a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. (There is no dishwasher.) You’ll also find oodles of plates, cups, silverware, steak knives, and pots and pans galore. There are lots of spices and oils that you can use in a pinch. And lots of storage containers.
In the bathroom, you’ll find towels, wash cloths, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toilet paper and a hair dryer. All are provided. Please note the bathroom has only a stand-up shower.
There is a flat-screen TV with HD antennae channels, but not cable. You’ll get the big networks, like ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX, but for specialty channels like ESPN, you’ll need to head to the Caddy Shack Bar & Grill. The cottage also has a VCR with lots of movies to choose from, as well as books, board games and cards for those occasional rainy afternoons!
Wireless Wi-Fi is included in the cottage, and the password to logon is on a card in the dining area.
There is a firepit for your use in the backyard. You’ll find firewood in the open storage on the rear patio. The firewood can also be used for the fireplace in the cottage’s living room. Please be certain the fireplace flue is open before starting your fire! 😊
There is a gas grill available for your cooking use, right outside the entry door.
There is a sturdy metal pier on the lake with an umbrella awning and a wonderful bench to sit on and enjoy the peacefulness of nature and the water. (The pier is removed in late October and reinstalled typically in April.) In the cottage’s basement (under the wraparound deck), you’ll find life jackets and all kinds of water play items. Depending on the year, the lake can be very inviting as a swimming location around the pier, and then in some years, there will be a lot of weeds that make swimming there not as enjoyable. Please use the life jackets and fishing poles if you want to rent a fishing boat, jet ski or pontoon boat over at Lakeside Liquor & Pardeeville Water Sports, right on Main Street in Pardeeville.
The cottage has a canoe for your use, which you’ll find by the rear patio. Again, life preservers and paddles are in the basement area.
There are scads of fish in Park Lake! Around shore, you’ll catch lots of panfish, bullheads and striped bass. Further out in the lake, you’ll see boaters pulling in walleye, musky and northern pike.
If the water around the cottage’s pier is not conducive to swimming, head over to Chandler Park, right in Pardeeville, about a 7-minute drive from the cottage. There is a public swimming area on Park Drive inside the park. Watercraft of all kinds is permitted on Park Lake, including motor boats. There is a boat launch at Chandler Park.
